Pop Art Movement - Comfort in Commercialism

As the age of commercial uniformity closed in, pop art spread out creating such super stars as Andy Warhol, Robert Rauschenberg, Jasper Johns and Roy Lichtenstein to name but a few Although many pop artists still display their works in galleries, pop art can arguably be found inside your Happy Meal from McDonalds

So what is pop art and where is it going? well, in the words of one art critic, "I don't know art, but I know what I like and I like thisdream. The artwork, based on packaging, television, advertising, films and even comic books helped to break down the long held barriers between high art and mass culture Make No Mistake - Circus is the Tour to See Britney Spears re-introduced herself to the world through a much-anticipated performance on Good Morning America. Whereas in Britain the pop artists took a more romantic approach, in America the results were often times more brash; like the giant binoculars and shuttlecocks of Claes Oldenburg  Popular culture and the art that represents it grows at an exponential rate each year just like most aspects of life on this earth Aside from Britney Spears fitness regime, her dedication, and determination drives her way to weight loss.   Originally considered a counterattack on Abstract Expressionism, the pop art movement usurped the French based Dada movement it terms of its battle against highbrow art and has never looked back She wore a body hugging Versace's pink pleated moirĂ© silk gown with detailed stitching and insets at the bodice.  And although pop art has long since spawned many different sub categories and new and unusual mediums; it all comes back to art for, of and by the masses.

Some question if pop art is a serious comment on the contemporary condition or simply a "joke without humour. Pop art combines its mass produced, low cost, expendable, shiny nature to encourage the big money and bright lights to come calling

Media Interview - Beware

A lot of them have a "gotcha" mentality which means they're after something sensational, quirky or different to make their name at their TV station, radio outlet or newspaper. The media interview - a very important (integral) part of your media relations strategy. You have to deliver your information in an entertaining way if you want the media to use you and use you often as well as use more of your material each time. When Henry Kissinger was Secretary of State for the USA in the 1970s he used to stride into huge media conferences and ask the crowd: "Okay, anyone here got any questions to go with my answers". . The media can do lots of nasty things to you, like wrecking your career for one, IF YOU LET THEM. Guess what else they're doing? If it's one of those dreaded "doorstop" interviews, often they're appealing to opposition news directors at the TV stations in their city or area. Guess what else they're doing? Yes, it's true, you have to be really careful with any media interview, particularly if you're dealing with Western media. Henry knew the ropes allright.
